FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

How much will a site cost?
That depends on a lot of factors, including size of site & features included. For this reason I give a free
consultation & price quote for new customers. This process which will cost you only a little of your time
will allow me to give you an estimate. I will give you and exact quote of price before work starts.

What is the minimum I can get a web site put up for?
Current suggested minimum costs are as follows:
Domain Name: $35
Web Hosting: $18 per month
Design 1 page: $100
Total cost for 1 year: $351
These costs assume that I will be providing Web Hosting via a reputable server. I will discuss other options for
hosting in the next few questions.
Design cost per page goes down with multiple pages.

I have some experience with the Internet and I think I can get my site up on the web for less money,
will you design it for me and let me put it on the web?
Yes, I would gladly design the site for you, and either give you a disk with the site on it, or you could give me the information
given to you by the host you find, and I would upload it for you.

I hear there are places where you can host a site for free.
Yes there are, and if you insist, I will help you put your site up on one. The downside of these is that they aren't as
reliable as those you pay for, and they often make you include banners that detract form the look of your site.
For personal sites these can be a good option, but not for businesses.

Are there any other ways to get cheap web hosting?
Yes, if you have an Internet connection, many service providers give you a small amount of hosting space as part of the deal.
You will have to contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to find out if they give you hosting space, how much space
is provided, and for what purposes you are allowed to use it. once you have this information, you can let me know and we
can determine if it will work for your site.

Do I really need to purchase a domain name?
No, you don't need to, but I strongly suggest that you do. Without one, your address will be long, complicated, and hard for
your customers to identify with you or your establishment.

When do I have to pay for the site?
I need half of the design costs before I start and the other half when I am finished. The money for Domain name
and hosting are needed before I can upload the site to the Internet. You can pay for hosting on a monthly basis,
but I strongly suggest that you pay for a year at a time so that an accidental late payment won't make you lose your site.

How will people find my site?
I will submit it to search engines, and if they exist for your type of business online directories.
It also helps to include your web address on your advertisements and other places your name appears.

I really liked the first page of the Areon Web site, can you do something like that for me?
Yes, I have a couple of different designs which I have used before with logos and whichcould probably be
adapted to work with yours. I can also try something new based on the same concept.
